EJ grew up in Western New York, the son of a Brooklyn Irishman and a Calabrian mother. He and his wife of 57 years have lived in eight states and 23 different homes. An indication of his imagination was converting a 1953 school bus into a camper/moving van to get his family from Indiana to Oregon so he could attend graduate school at Oregon State. His honest living was made in the forest products industry.
